| 11-24-09 Last update for this site. It is hard to believe that it took nearly 5 years to complete this process. There are still final touhes to be completed...decorating type things. Oh and trying to establish and organize a workshop in the basement of the new St. Francis of Assissi Activity Building (old Barn). Last week Pendola was the recipient of used office furniture by Carollo Engineering. Everything from conferences tables with matching chairs to general office furniture. What a blessing to have such nice furniture. With the Grand-Re-opening behind us, the first summer back at Pendola was wonderful. Creature Camp took place in October and we have more schools scheduled for the Spring. Parish Youth Groups are enjoying Pendola Center and here is hoping that Pendola Center is well on it's way to returning to the thriving facility it was before the fire. |

| 3-31-09 On Saturday, March 28, thanks to Steve Tholcke and 5 girls from St. Francis, the kitchen trailer was emptied and all the stuff was moved to the new dining room. As of yesterday, all of the appliances and in place in the kitchen and the plumbers and electricians are finishing hooking them up. There are lots of little things to finish like outlets covers and general cleanup. AND ONE BIG THING IS LEFT--- PG & E NEEDS TO HOOK UP THE PERMANENT ELECTRICITY!!!! We need lots of help to get camp ready for the Grand Re-opening on May 17 so work weekends are on April 25-26 and May 2-3. Conact us if you ar able to come so we can plan for food and housing. It is really happening....finally!!!! |

| 2-25-09 A couple of weeks of snow has slowed somethings down, but back up to full speed again. Yesterday the doors were delivered and they will be installed this week. This is major progress as being able to control temperature inside is important at this point in time. The recent rains have helped reduce the snow cover and hopefully PG & E can get the new electric pole set so we can dispense with the tempoary feed. Along the same vein, it is hoped that the propoane company can come out and move the propane tank that was used for the the temporary kitchens in 2005 to the new buildings. Novel concept to have both heat and electricity. The flooring is scheduled to come in the end of next week and the construction crew is setting up a temporary paint room to refinish the lower cupboard units. Right now it doesn't look like a lot is happening because it is the little finishing elements that take time but don't really show. (Kind of like cleaning out your closets at home) |

| 1-20-09 The current mild weather has helped keep things moving along. We had a slow down over the holidays but were back in camp by the middle of the following week. The ceiling and wall texturing is complete as is the painting. The walk-in cooler/freezer has been put in. Heaters are being installed. The entry way canopies have been roofed. This week work is on the exhaust system for the new hood in the kitchen, finish decking and stairways, and exterior painting. FRP(fiberglass paneling for those of you who aren't up on all these terms like me) is being installed in the kitchen . Electrical trim package is being delivered this week. We need moisture but lets keep praying it comes as rain rather than snow:) |

| 12-26-08 Snow has come to Camp Pendola and we hope that it won't slow down all the progress. The insulation is complete, drywall is up and the taping is complete. The sidewalks and entry to the kitchen and dining room are complete. The entry to the barn is also complete. The snow has temporarily stopped the exterior starway for the barn, but most of the deck for the kitchen is finished. The next step is for the spray texturing, ceiling and door installation and then the interior paint. The flooing has been selected and ordered. |

| 11-17-08 Last Friday the buildings had their final frame inspection. That means that all of the electrical and plumbing is complete, as is all of the structural elements. Windows, siding and roofing is completed. The last of the exterior work is underway. The handicap accessible sidewalk and entry for the dining room, decking for the kitchen/dining room and the exterior stairway for the barn has begun. Once the building passes the final frame inspection, then the works begins inside with insullation and dry wall. |

| 9-15-08 The roof is on the kitchen/dining room and the windows have been installed. It is looking good. The barn's main floor is framed, the stairs are complete to the upstairs. We are waiting for an overhead power line to be moved before framing of the barn can be comlete. Some discussion of coming up with a new name for the barn since the new building is becoming a reality and is no longer technically a barn. |

|
|
| Some upcoming timelines...the first floor framing for the barn is expected to be completed by the end of this week. Trusses for the barn are to be assembled onsite and installed next week. Deck work is to begin. The trees have been cleared for the leech field (almost 1 acre) and system should be completely functioning before the end of September (6 weeks). |

3-5-08 - Well it has stopped snowing (maybe), but there still is about 6” of snow over the entire construction site. As a result, there is no progress. The Bad NEWS... Completion date as been pushed back to November 2008. |
|
| |
|
2-10-08 - And it snowed, and it snowed and it snowed!!! Need I say more. Camp is buried in at least 18” of snow. Contractors will be on site this next week to evaluate not only the site, but the roads needed to bring in equipment and supplies. A new plow blade on the camp pick up truck that arrives this week may help the roads improve. KEEP PRAYING!!! |

| 12-18-07- Well, the first week saw stump removal, clearing and erosion control. Also the unexpected discovery of a water line, sewer line and propane line. Go figure :) And then it started raining... |

| The plans are complete and have been approved by Yuba County. Construction begins the week of December 3, 2007 with scheduled completion November 2008. The first thing happening is the placement of the septic tanks, grease interceptor, and dosing tank. The excavation for the foundation of the kitchen and dining room is next followed by foundation work. Register for the new Networking Site for pictures. |
